FAQ
What is BuyandSellHair.com?
BuyandSellHair.com is a classified ads site for human hair, serving buyers and sellers worldwide. Hair sellers list their hair for sale and then interested buyers are able to contact them through the contact form on their listing.
Why should I list my hair on your site?
Because our site gets the highest traffic, the most sales and the highest prices for your hair in comparison to our competitors. Our site has been featured in many press publications so you can be sure you’re dealing with a reputable and established website.
Listing with us helps ensure your hair gets proper exposure and is appreciated by buyers that understand the true value of human hair.
Our listing process is quick and easy. Simply register on the site and then post an ad. Our selling hair guide and experience page, made with real user reviews, helps you at each step of the sales process.
What fees do you charge?
Our only charge is a one-time listing fee of $14.50 for 3 months (works out to less than $5 a month!), giving you every opportunity to sell your hair. Transactions are managed through trusted payment provider PayPal. We take no commission on completed sales.
How do I edit my hair ad?
Login to your account and go to your dashboard. You should then see a list of your live ads. In the options column you will see a pencil icon. Click this to edit your ad.
My ad is live and I now want to upgrade it to featured status. How do I do this?
If you would like to upgrade your ad to featured status after it has been posted, please visit the PayPal upgrade hair ad payment page. In the PayPal notes, please remember to include your BuyandSellHair.com username and the title of your ad. We will typically upgrade your ad in under 24 hours.
What is the ‘Bump this Ad’ button on my listing page?
For a small fee, you can choose to ‘bump’ your ad so that it’s shown on the front page under ‘Just Listed’. The front page generally gets more exposure than the pages further back.
How do I reply to a prospective buyer that has contacted me through the site?
To reply to a buyer, simply click the ‘reply’ button in the email you receive from us that has the buyer’s message. The ‘To’ field in the email will then automatically change to reflect the buyer’s email address.
My hair has been coloured / treated – can I still sell it?
Although virgin hair is generally preferred, treated hair is still purchased by some hair buyers. However, it is recommended that you are more flexible in your pricing – it’s a good idea to leave your listing open to offers.
My child needs a haircut, can I sell their hair and does it sell for a premium?
Yes you can sell your child’s hair; buyers such as wigmakers specifically look for children’s hair so they can make child wigs. A child’s hair will generally go for a slight premium as there are fewer sellers in the market. However, it’s important to note that price is dependent on many other factors such as length, colour and thickness. If you don’t have a specific sales price in mind, it is best to leave your listing open to offers.
Do you have a hair trading community where we can discuss hair topics?
We have a Facebook page where you are welcome to start discussions and an experience page where we welcome your comments and tips. We are also considering the launch of a hair & beauty forum if we get enough support. If you would like us to launch a community forum please let us know.
What are the technical requirements for images I want to upload to my hair listing?
Please ensure images that you try to upload are smaller than 1MB each and are a .jpg, .gif or .png file type. Website http://imageoptimizer.net helps you easily reduce file size if needed.
What tips do you have for buying and selling hair?
That’s best explained in our hair selling guide and hair buying guide. You should also take a look through our experience page to get tips directly from other hair traders.
Do you offer an affiliate program?
We do indeed! Get involved in our affiliate program and you’ll make 15% off each user that lists an advert on our site. See our affiliate page for more information.
